Following a highly accomplished career spanning nearly three decades as a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon, Dr. Paul Krawitz has officially retired from active surgical practice. He previously anchored specialized treatment programs for complex glaucoma management and advanced laser cataract surgeries in Long Island, New York.
Dr. Krawitz graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan before completing his medical degree in 1985. During his enrollment, he achieved induction into the elite Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
His early postgraduate training commenced with an Internal Medicine track at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York. He subsequently completed his specialized residency in Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where his leadership culminated in a term as Chief Resident.
To further isolate complex pathology skills, he added an intensive year of clinical Glaucoma fellowship training at Mount Sinai, studying closely under structural design pioneers Dr. Steven Podos and Dr. Carl Camras.
Throughout his 29-year tenure beginning in 1993, Dr. Krawitz operated as a senior physician partner with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI). Managing an active caseload exceeding 1,000 surgical interventions annually, his career portfolio emphasizes specialized clear-corneal cataract micro-surgery, complex therapeutic pathways for advanced glaucoma, and selective laser therapies covering both macular diseases and diabetic retinopathy.
In addition to active practice, he maintained an educational footprint in Manhattan as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, regularly instructing peers and residents on safe microsurgical strategies.
Complementing his clinical career, Dr. Krawitz directed structural formula innovations as the founding President and CEO of Vitamin Science, Inc. from 2001 to 2022, securing multiple processing patents and target trademarks for specialized eye health supplements, notably the VisiVite product family.

Dr. Krawitz maintains life fellowships and credentials across key industry frameworks, serving as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
